"Center Stage" is a very effective here, Evelynn.
Good choice of placement.
The central position accentuates the "radiating" effect of the clouds and light.

Hi Sue, I know this is all about the beetle and a good photo of mim but I also like the leaves here. There is good detail and texture in the front which really helps to make it a nice photo. The beetle being black and red looks very good against it. I like the gap between the two leaves also, makes a pleasant composition. Good work, thanks.

We have a lot of red-winged blackbirds here, and I love it when they puff out their wings, show off their red spots, and sing out from their heart, I have tried to take this very picture for the longest time, but have not succeeded yet. Your image encourages me to persist.
