Hej Ralf,
Wow, this is one of the best shots I've seen of the Lapwing, or the "Peewit" as they say in rural England. Razor sharp and the colours are fabulous. (I wonder if you got your paint brush out?? :-})
I forgot to ask you what parts of Öland you went to?
TFS o ha det så bra, Ulla

Such unspoilt beauties of nature are a treat to the eyes, Saeed.
The combination of purple, yellow and green just sends the senses reeling with joy.

Hello Joe,
That's a very interesting fly that you've caught very nicely indeed. Good focus on the head and sharp details, I like the beautiful wing and the unusual abdomen that you show so well. Looks good on the yellow flower.

Hey Joe,

May I hand you a tip? If you use spotmetering in your camera for light measurements the camera will focus on the subject. Usually the surroundings become darker of lighter, but light on the subject will be perfect. That way the black parts will still have detail in greytones to bring out the subject even more. Black insects are most difficult by the way.

Good job, greetings Arjuna.

Hello Antonio and a belated but very warm welcome to TrekNature!

This is simply a magnificent capture!
What an outstanding species and what a perfect macro shot!
The details here are terrific and very sharp and the depth of field is very well managed - keeping the insect in great focus while blurring out the BG nicely. I would be very nice if you could update your profile in matters about the equipment so that others can learn from your experience, too, and also maybe even show us the EXIF data of the photos :)

Anyway, another fantastic thing here at this shot are the very beautiful and vivid colors on this Empusa. They really stand out superbly!
Excellent point of view and a simply but wonderful composition!
A definite favorite!

Hi Jose

Another very beautiful macro work from you!
I really like the pose in which you caught this lovely comma butterfly and the charming warm light you got on it.
The POV here is exceptional and the details are all super sharp!
Very beautiful colors and excat DOF, too!
