Very nice to see a new picture from you! (and also some sun in the back there...nice to see you had some good weather in your holiday, too) :)
This is a splendid shot, even if the subject is quite common.
The details and textures on this longhorn beetle are exceptional and very sharp...as usual, i love that!
The BG is also very lovely here - nicely blurred and contrasting with the subject.
Very nice side POV and very good exposure, as well.

deja felicitations pour avoir reussi a prendre ces deux papillon que je n'arrive pas a voir posé.
lorsqu'il sont en vol on voit bien pour le mâle le orange sur les ailes mais pas les motifs verts dessous comme ici.
le mâle me semble une OE mais la femelle elle est parfaite.

Ahhh....ce misto!!! Momentul aici este cheis, si ai speculat asta cat de bine posibil.
Se poate usor vedea si din poza ca lumina si conditiile "climatice" au fost relativ departe de ideale, dar rezultatul este unul remarcabil! Cred ca ai facut foarte bine sa folosesti "Burnst mode"-ul, dar sincer, cred ca puteai urca pana la ISO 200 fara sa pierzi prea mult din calitatea imaginii si a culorilor...din cate am vazut si citit eu, senzorul unui 30D nu are probleme deloc la asa valori mici de sensibilitate. Oricum, sunt uimit de claritatea imaginii in conditiile unui timp de expunere asa scurt. Bravo! Iar tinant cont de distanta focala si de faptul ca e un "handheld", imi vine in minte vorba lui Niek(suntoucher) - "surgeon hands" :)) (am avut mai de mult o discutie cu el despre stabilitatea mainilor...).

Oricum, pe langa asta, compozitia pe care ai reusit s-o creezi aici e foarte frumoasa iar BG-ul e exceptional, lasand sa se intrevada un pic din habitatul pasarii.

Hi Rick,
now this is something I was hoping to see a genuine Alberta prairie rattlesnake.I have uploaded food(yesterday) for your snake.If they could express emotion then this snake seems to say back off and I don't trust you as it has a wary look in its eye.Good details and nice muted colour and a point of view that would seem to be taken at an unsafe distance you have captured this snake well.Very kind of you to save this one from the roadway,I know that I would make the effort myself.Tfs Bob
