Hoi Harm, erg fraai deze foto van bont dikkopje met tegenlicht. Vanuit deze invalshoek kun je zowel bovenvleugel als ondervleugel zien.

A lovely shot, which I think, works very well. The positioning of the butterfly is excellent and it has good sharpness.

Have a good trip to Poland - I just booked a weekend there in June about an hour ago!

excellent work, the sharpness of the detail and the colors are excellent. Very well composed, very nice how the butterflies wings extend to the corner of the picture and from a diagonal with the flower. Excellent DOF and the frame works very well.

I had posted two picture of Holly Blue shot in India many months ago, so my interest in this species is rather very special, Ivan, mainly because someone had to lead me to its true ID as usual :-)!
It is good to see it with the wings partially open, and it is a pretty colourful female, as you rightly mention in your note.
The focus is not at its best in this image; nevertheless, it has immense educative value for me.
