What a marvellous capture, Christophe!
I had never seen a picture of this curious and strange animal here in TN. Where did you take the shot? In an Aquarium?
It is rather sharp and with excellent POV, light and colors. The composition and presentation are great!
I love it!
Congratulations and thank you very much for sharing.
Best wishes

This is incredibly strange and yet beautiful all at the same time! It resembles the mouth of some gigantic prehistoric animal preparing to engulf its prey! Beautiful use of light!
Kind regards,
Bev :-) |

really, you couldn't ask for anything more from this. Everything about it demsonstrates a well thought out and planned shot. The path serves well as a lead in through the image, to those varied trees that give a wonderful array of different shapes in the background, and the control of the light is fantastic, giving many different areas of light and shadow which give this an almost 3D like quality. There is maybe a small area that is a bit bright on the hoizon as you mentioned, but i really don't think it detracts from the shot in any way. The problem i sometimes have when using grads is making anything on the horizon or skyline too dark whilst trying to control the light and losing detail!
Anyway, great work as always Niek, very impressive. Gotta love that 10-20mm!

what a great shot! the colours and tonal quality are beautiful and i love the heaped sticks in the foreground/ Looks like a Beavers Dam? i see you have the U.S/Canadian version of my camera - a great piece of kit aren't they? Very well done ands thanks for sharing.
Have a great weekend,
Paul
(p.s if you use a grad filter here as well as a CP, the exposure of the sky would even better i reckon!:o) |

nice shot, i like the composition with the crashing wave on the right and i think the B/W works well. I agree with Jai that it could be a bit lighter and your horizon looks a little tilted to me. Nice forst post though, welcome to TN...
