Hi Satish.
Amazing subject and all the elements for a awesome image but the image quality lets this down badly. Could it be in the resolution when scanning in as fuji provia is a pretty good film?
Scan in at the best resolution you can and then you can control it from there when it comes to sizing, but if it has been scanned in at only a low res, thats it, you will not get it any better. If you have used a photo lab to scan your film, unless you state and pay for larger scans they will only scan in at a small fast res.

Hakan,
Excellent detail seen in this Hummingbird Moth's eye segments.
The Moth's fine hairs over the top of the eye, seem to make a very nice eyelash effect..
Great shot, lousy note ;}

I think it's beautiful and I love the composition. The bird seems so happy - I cartoonize everything in my head - I see it bouncing up and down in the grass. ha ha

The colors are great and the wings look fabulous. You captured the open tail too.

S.,
How on earth do you get so very close to your subject/s???
Your images FASCINATE me totally.
Why do these little creatures stay "put" for you???
They take-off on me.
Then the colours are truely GREAT. The focusing very clearly accurate. Great contrasts too.
HOW??? HOW??? HOW???.
Friendly greetings from Canada from Mario.

Hello, Edith --

You've taken this right down to the essentials. I love the perch and the perspective of the butterfly on the flower. You couldn't have posed it better. Great composition, with excellent sharpness, good focus, attractive framing, helpful note. Couldn't ask for more.

Shalom Ori,
The technical aspects of this shot are very good, but it is the composition that I find intriguing. At first glance, it seems like the right third of the image is nothing but wasted space. However, I think that is is the long petals trailing off into nothingness that first cought my attention. The longer I look at at, the more I like the composition.
Now, a botanical question. My understanding is that the (strange) shapes of the orchids evolved to accomodate specific insect pollinators, but this one is really extreme. What is the function of the long petal?

Wonderful lighting, colors, contrast, Bob. A simple, yet dramatic photo. Thanks for this...and an informative note to wrap it up with a ribbon, so to speak.

Hi Kathleen,
this sure is a lovely shot of these blooms and the point of view of this composition is very good with the hint of the mountains just beyond.Good exposure and nice focus work well for this photo as white can be difficult to get right. Tfs. Bob

ps: I hope to see some more of your area of the world.
