I do like the composition here of your Bison and Elk and agree that the thick dark border accentuates your shot. Colours are rich yet soft.

It's hard to believe that millions of Bison use to roam our prairies and that when the Europeans came to North America they almost annihilated them. I've heard that Bison from Elk Island National Park (north of were I live) were sent to Yellowstone to help build a herd. Hopefully it all works out.

Here's to capturing many great photos in 2007

Hi Chi

This looks like a very fashion conscious bird. The matching pink-red legs, the rimmed eyes, and the finch-like beak against the harmonising mauve, grey, black, and white plumage on the body, head, and in the face. A wonderful mix of colours.

A beautiful display of a very lovely bird. Your composition is great with the branch leading into the frame. Excellent details shown from the appropriate DOF, the dark BG compliments the bird very well, and you managed the exposure superbly by even showing the black head against the black BG.

Very well done and TFS.
