First I’d like to say thanks for all the good wishes for Christmas and for the New Year. May you and your loved ones experience all the joy & happiness, good health & strength, as well as prosperity & fortune in 2007. And of course some good light on your photographs.
This is a fine capture of the monarch. I like the composition with the leaves of the plant creating steps that leads up to the butterfly clinging to the flower on the one side of the frame. The colours are great, the details are sharp, the BG is well removed and complimentary to the subject, and the exposure was well controlled.

This is a fine shot of the autumn scene. The lovely fall colours lend a rich tone to the photo. The details were well captured through the appropriate DOF, and the exposure was spot-on. I like how the fence leads the eye into the frame to discover all the other beautiful subjects in the photo.

beautiful! What I really like is the large space around the bird. It is not just about the bird but also about the composition here. The colours are amazing and the bird well exposed. The only nit are the white stripes above the bird which distrast a little. I wouldn't crop the image: the composition is great. I would use the clone tool (I'll post a workshop)
