Hi Vicma!

This is a very beautiful picture, typical for you: a great composition, crystal clear sharpness of the subject underlined by a perfectly blurred background, superb lighting.

Congratulations!

Kind regards

Nice shot of the Owl Ziggy. I think Bob is correct; it is an Eastern Screech. The sharp detail in this shot is very good with great colour on the owl and those fresh Maple leaves provide a pleasant background. Composition is good with the way you've filled the frame. The stare from those eyes is incredible.

Thanks, John

Hallo annick,

groet Gert

Hi Mircea, what an incredible contrast in colour between the owl and that sky. Very nice first shot of this Snowy Owl. Your position gives us great visibility of this bird including those outstretched wings, the eye and even those incredible talons. Composition is good the way you cropped the shot to give us a corner to corner view. Very nice.

Thanks, John

Hallo Markus
Splendid shot with wonderful detail. Lovely point of view and great composition. I like this kind of shot. It would look good in a frame on a wall! A breathtaking scene. I am sure you experienced it much more intense being there than what we see on your photo. I never had the opportunity getting so close to so much snow. The snow is wonderful against the blue sky,and the snow covered trees are very artistic. This is how I would imagine an absolute Winter wonderland would be. Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards

Hi Annick, first time I've seen one of these, that is quite the tail on this guy. The composition is interesting. You had to give him lots of room for that tail, yet you've still given him room up front to move. Finding him on the leafless brush works quite well in allowing us to see him completely without competing foliage. Depth of field is good, you've nicely muted the background from the bird, and finally looking at the bird himself, you've given us an excellent sharp view, with great overall detail.

Thanks, John

Hi Bob, beautiful shot of a beautiful bird. The colour and detail are very good, especially the head with that fantastic eye, and the feather detail is respectable too. The weather really was supporting you in this one. That is one fantastic sky as a backdrop. You've composed this well, filling a square format frame with this guy. I'm looking forward now to your future shots, when you and the birds get to know each other a bit better. Enjoyed.

Thanks, John

Hallo Mircea
Your first shot at this snowy owl is remarkable and stunning. This is a technique I would like to carry out one day in the far far far future. I admire photos like these and photographers that take such successful bird in flight photos. Absolutely stunning! You can tap yourself on the back and push your chest forward because this is really a photo to be proud off. This Snowy Owl's wingspan and feathers are so impressive, and looks so pure and clean. The detail of the patterns of the body plumage are remarkable and the colour fantastic. What impresses me the most is the clear visibility of the yellow eyes and the sharp nails at the paws. This surely is a royal bird. I do not see anything wrong with your background but I think this bird's features would have been even better displayed if the sky was a little lighter. (That is only my opinioun) Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards
Anna
