Another Software Package

I liked the workshop that was doe by Loot...
and wanted to see if I could come reasonably close with another software package. Loot used Adobe Elements... < it has a pricetag > I'm using free software.

Here are the steps used
a) adjust light and colour
b) saturation
c) crop...

Zoom as follows:
a) Rotate to remove the dark triangle at the bottom
b) crop some from top
c) sharpen
d) saturation

and finally balance lighting and contrast
