Hi Ivan,
thanks for your recent comment. Yes, it's been ages since I was active here on TN. I switched job, moved to another place in the Netherlands (I live now in the same region as Niek [suntoucher]) and have the privilidge of raising two great (time consuming) daughters and that besides many projects I do. I had to step back for a while to get it all organised. But although I didn't leave a comment or made a post, I peaked into TN every now and then and saw that most of the old clan is still there and many more 'new' members are active with great pictures.
But your gallery is growing and what I like about it is the great diversity of images, notes and skillfull comments.
The place I now live is rich in dragonflies. A. cyanea is quite commn, but I never got the chance to made a picture like your one with that much detail. Good work.
I'll get back to TN moreoften in the near future, as long as my spare time allows me :-)
Regards, Jacob
Hello Angelo,
I can only agree with the others. It is very nice to see the well displayed grey marks on the upper side of the wing.
Regards, Jacob
Hello Ori,
I think have seen the (sub)species you mentioned in Spain this spring, but in my perception it was more pink/purple coloured.
Great details and colours!

Gaaf hoor
Groeten
JAcob
Man, that hurts. Imagine this sharp bill in your chest. Maybe they are used to it.
cheers,JAcob
Hi Arif,
everything seems to work out fine in this picture. Nice light (probably a bit on the hard side) fine coloration of the damsel and splendid angle under which the image was taken.
More of this!
Jacob
Wow Akif,
that is some picture!. I really love these graious birds. The greenish colours on the neck are well visible. Well done!
Jacob

Hi Joey,
what I like especially about this picture is the fine colours and light. Sharp details and composition are as ever well displayed. The forward position of the wings is always difficult to capture with dragonflies. HEre you have a fine DOF and that with an aperture of only 5!
well done
JAcob
