Hi Janice, assuming you haven't discovered a new species :D this is the South African import Miomantis caffra, the NZ species has the distinctive blue 'eye' spots on the inside of its fore legs, judging from the swollen abdomen it is probably a female. TFS

Hi Geof, this antelope is a female Bushbuck (Tragelaphus scriptus). The brown ring round the base of the neck is a bit unusual, I cant quite make out if the fur is missing or just damp. If it's missing it may be an old snare wound, but that's just a guess.

Based on the the plates in the Sasol Birds of South Africa field guide, I would say this is a Roseringed Parakeet

Spotted Flycatcher?

I do not think this is a Pipit, none of the Pipits found in South Africa have black legs, it also lacks the eye stripe common to most pipits. Its slender build and upright perching posture suggests that it is a member of the flycatcher family. The streaked breast and forehead are diagnostic characteristics of the Spotted Flycatcher (Muscicapa striata)
