Hi Tibor! How's it going?
:)
Great shot man! Awesome! Good focus, and well composed! I did get the feeling though that there was something wrong here, as it looked slightly under-exposed. Also, the colors are very warm, but this appears to be a yellow cast (if I'm not mistaken), in combination with the under-exposure.
My best bet is, that you have put your camera on the wrong Whitebalance-setting, also based on readings on the Histogram in Silkypix Developer Studio 3.0 That yellow cast looks quite familiar: You have shot this one with FZ18. I have an FZ8. Based on the yellow cast, I think you may have set the Whitebalance wrong by as much as 2 steps
(!)
But don't worry (about it), incase you haven't shot this one on RAW, 'cause with Silkypix 3.0 (the upgrade), it's possible to perform a Whitebalance afterwards on a JPEG(!)
(Hallelujah, brother!)
Please check out the Workshop!
Well done, TFS.
Best regards, Dimitri.
Hi Radomir! How's it going?
:)
What a fine clear shot of this specimen of Tiger beetle, Radomir! Magnificent!
I just had a brief look at the pictures of your Tiger beetle saga :) You seem to know a lot about them! Informative note, Academic(!).
Based on the other pictures, I think your imaging is also improving. This may be the best (clearest) image (shot) so far, altough it does look slightly under-exposed.
This may be caused by the use of Fill-flash, but I wouldn't worry too much about it, if I were you, because the shot is very well done :) Some cameras may/tend to under-expose if Fill-flash is used. Because of the slight under-exposure, colors are (now) in their shadow-range of luminance (120-), and as a result, color reproduction and imaging is not optimal.
So, what's needed here is a little Post-Production to compensate for the slight under-exposure to further improve imaging of this fine specimen of Tiger beetle.
That said, All in all a very good shot!
I hope this may be helpful.
Well done, TFS!
Best regards, Dimitri.
Hi Foozi, how's it going?
What a beautiful shot, Foozi! Well composed, and very colorful. It looks a bit under-exposed though. This may be caused by the fact that you shot it with Metering mode on pattern (not sure). Maybe you should have tried Spot metering here. I tried to compensate for the under-exposure in the workshop. I hope you like it.
Well done, TFS.
Best regards, Dimitri.
Hi Michael, how's it going?
That's a very nice shot you've presented here, Michael. Very colorful: looks very neutral on my screen! Some very nice detail in the plumage. Well framed.
Well done, TFS!
Best regards, Dimitri.
Hi Pearl, how's it going?
What a beautiful shot of this butterfly, Pearl! Looks very colorful and detailed. Good lighting of the subject: the use of the fill flash is really working here. Informative note.
Well done, TFS!
Best regards, Dimitri.
Hi Anne, how's it going?
Congratulations! From the note I understand that this one is rare overthere. Not only did you spot this one, but also were able to get a clear shot and manage a good composition. It looks beautiful, Anne.
"ZERYNTHIA POLYXENA" ..
Sounds like Greek to me... ;)
:)
Well done, TFS.
Best regards, Dimitri.
Hi Michael, how's it going?
I like it, Micheal! I like the panoramic approach towards portraying the herd. The color-reproduction seems to be a little bit off, because of the workflow, but I think it has something. However, it does look slightly blue-ish, so, maybe you should try a de-emphasis on the B-channel, and boost the R-channel, relatively speaking.
Well done, a lot of effort has gone into this one (!) TFS.
Best regards, Dimitri.
Hi Karanvir, how's it going?
Beautiful landscape, Karanvir! Good exposure, very well composed, although I would like to see slightly more saturated colors, especially in the reflection. The colors there seem to be in their shadow range. So, if I may suggest to try this, because I think it will look even better that way!
- By the way -, I love the reflection.
Very well done, TFS.
Best regards, Dimitri.
Hi Anne! How's it going?
What a beautiful Mountainview, Anne! The Valaisan Alps. This is shot at quite a high altitude I believe. Good exposure, snow looks white. Some sharpening artifacts around the contour of the mountains. I can see why you were adressing technical sharpness in your critique.
:)
Well done, TFS.
Best regards, Dimitri.

Hi Adrian, how's it going?
Oh..., this one looks very pretty, Adrian. Very poetic. A winter still life... I like the contrast of the warm complementing red and green tones in the front, with the somewhat colder wintry grey tones in the back. And the icecycles. Gives a nice atmosphere: Christmas!
Well done, TFS.
Best regards, Dimitri.
