Hi mate,

Just time for a quick check on TN - first for a long time (these job and pregnant wife things don't half give you a busy old life!!), spotted this - excellent story to match the excellent shot - I really love the capture of this wave fading the pebble beach away... brilliant sense of flowing time but no so blurred to render the whole sea a blurry mess - there's lovely detail in the swell around "the Door". Great work, and I hope you've dried out by now!

TFS - hope you're keeping well my friend!

Doug

Hi Paul,

Well what can I say mate - another stunner from you, the foreground composition and flow of water is incredible, and you've captured lovely detail against the sunset - great exposure. I see you've also treated yourself to a 40D? I'm very jealous - they look like lovely pieces of kit - I'd love one!! You impressed so far?? I've unfortunately been so busy recently my photography has taken something of a downturn which is a shame!

Anyway - thanks for sharing this beautiful scene my friend.

Cheers
Doug

Hi Paul,

So many wonderful new shots from you, so little time to do them all justice at the moment - this one caught my eye though, wonderful classical landscape composition - and fantastic summer colours. What's wrong with a nice vivid postcard scene once in a while, eh?! You've handled the scene really well as usual, so many different elements yet they don't clutter one another or clash. One question - is it my eyes or monitor or is it a touch soft in the long distances? Anyway - it's lovely work my friend - glad you had a glorious trip! Cheers, Doug :-)

Hi mate,

Stunning shot! Definitely worth the early (and no doubt cold) start - great composition and beautiful soft lighting. Lovely, really lovely.

ps an explanation for my recent absence from TN - 2.5 weeks til wedding (hope I'll be able to post some Bali honeymoon shots on here!), and have just found out I'm going to be a father.............! Going to be quite a year for me!

Cheers
Doug

Hi Tina,

This is a really lovely shot - what a place to do be gliding about in a canoe, must have been so peaceful...!

The nice simple composition and stunning colours make this shot work. Excellent use of the polariser too.

ps Looks pretty straight to me!

Thanks
Doug

Hi Pawel,

Very original and striking image, I love the black and white conversion, very effective here!

Great shot my friend.

Hi Saeed,

What a stunning shot... and what a magical place! This does look like a land from another world, I love it... the trunk rising from the water almost looks like it merges into the cliff face, the contrast betwen the shadowy left and the sunlit right, the perfect exposure - all brilliant.

Added to my favourites. Fabulous work!
Thanks
Doug

Hi Tony, what a stunning day indeed - my fiancee keeps trying to persuade me that we should emigrate to New Zealand - with the evidence of scenes like this it's at times a compelling argument!! Great shot, lovely composition, such amazing summer colours!

Thanks for sharing such an inspiring shot! Doug

Hi Paul,

Wow - my friend, another stunning shot!! I would never had guessed the rocks were lit artificially, luckily that really adds something special to the shot!! The main question I have is ... how on earth did you get a 30 second exposure!? F18 yes, polariser yes, did you use an ND filter too? It has had a magical effect on the water, that's for sure - ghostly but lovely. The colours are spectacular - good use of the polariser! Composition top notch as always from you :-)

Cheers, Doug

Hi Jessica,

What a wonderful vivid shot, it's strange how cold colours can be so warming! It's a shame the boat and swimmers were there, I love the simple composition of the lonely tree trunk in isolation...
