I like the story to go along with your photo! And I think that, in this case, your hand in the photo is a nice "touch". Very nice details captured.

Unbelievable shot! (I can never get so many ranges of depth in one shot.) We can even clearly see the rocks lying beneath the water's surface! As for your comment on too much sky, I don't agree--I think the sky and clouds give the mountains perspective.

As for the photo itself, excellent job! While it would be cool to see the entire dragonfly, I think you made the right choice in the way you cropped it, allowing attention to be focused on the main body. Besides, what we are able to see is enough to fulfill the photo's purpose. Love the light glimmering off the wings!

Beautiful photo! Nice composition. Good choice to keep the background out of focus and to a minimum and the attention on the penguins.
