Hi Bayram,

That's a real beauty! Brilliant color, nice composition, exposure and focus are right on the money. An excellent photo!

Hi Ron,

A very nice shot, caught the little critter just right!

I miss seeing these. They used to be very abundant here, but as our local Coyote population has greatly increased, the Cottontail population has massively decreased, and nowadays I rarely see them.

Thanks,
John

Hi Ron,

An excellent shot, great depth of field and nice light. I'm about 85% sure this is a Pasture Puffball, Mycenastrum corium, nothing else fits. The sculpted Puffballs in the Calvatia genus are all from the western US, nowhere near Ohio.

Hello Sumon,

A fine image of a spectacular little animal. The red color is amazing. I occasionally see very small ones like that here, but they are much smaller, from what I can tell from your very attractive photo.

Thanks,
John

Hi Ron,

An excellent close-up of this beast. Nice detail in the hairs and eyes, especially.

They live in holes in the ground, and when I was a kid, we used to try to tease them up out of their holes by sticking a stem of grass down the hole, and I always jumped 3 feet in the air when the spider came storming out to see what was annoying it.

Hi Bayram,

An exquisite little butterfly and an outstanding image of it, nice soft light with sharp detail and rich color, goes into my favorites.

Hi Ron,

Nicely done, you found a perfect arrangement of mushrooms, couldn't ask for better. Nice sharpness and I think I like the natural light shot just a touch more, but they're both fine.

Hi Dietrich,

Nicely done, regardless of camera. The results are what matters, and a very interesting technique utilizing a magnifying glass.

Hello Dietrich,

A very attractive and interesting photo, nice composition, excellent color and sharpness. An excellent note too. Thanks for explaining what the white tubes are. I took some photos of a Periodic Cicada right after it emerged from its nymphal "shell" and those white tubes are very visible in those shots too, always wondered what they were.

Thanks,
John
