Warm welcome to TN!! Hope you find this site as helpful as I have :) I like that your subject is slightly off center, subjects should mostly not be dead center unless you have a good reason. Your depth of field (DOF) was well chosen as the stigma is in focus as well as the petals.
I would chosen a larger crop so I get the entire flower instead of losing some of the petals.

I am so jealous of the bird life in your backyard ... I am beside myself!!!! Goodness!! If I had these beauties in my backyard, I would never leave it ...
I love this shot, your DOF is perfect as the BG is blurred yet the eye and long tail is in focus. The crop is a little too tight for me, I would have liked to have seen more of the surroundings.

Warm welcome to TN!!! Lovely subject for your first post. Very interesting posture as well, so this makes for a very interesting post. DOF is perfectly set as the BG is blurred enough not to be distracting and the feather detail is awesome. I think the pic might be a little underexposed as i cannot see the eye of the bird.

Beautiful shot!! I agree with Peter, I would have not centered the subject in the image.Otherwise, it is a great shot, unique pose, greate DOF and sharpness, nice colour sat.
