Great shot, Ron. But I like your other post of Anna's hummingbird simply because of the background showing off the bird's colours whereas this photo is rather dark in all aspects. I'm going to copy this and play around with the hummingbird with a different background, just for the heck of it.
Ron, an amazing photograph of this hummingbird. I especially like it because it is so different from most hummingbird photos that show the beautiful little creature posed in flight next to a feeder. I agree with Bob's critique all the way. Looking forwrad to more postings.

Bob, thanks for your comment on my "Blue Mystery" flower. If mine is indeed a "Bachelor's Button" yours is far superior in all aspects! Great shot!!! Yes, the Leica glass makes a big difference. Although I have favored Nikkor lenses in the past, I did have an encounter with a Leica lens back in the early 60's. I kick myself in the rear for selling that camera! Good to see your work once again on TN. As I've transferred most of my work to TrekLens, I kind of miss TrekNature's personnel. But the two people I don't miss, the ones responsible for deleting 14 of my photos, are not alive or well on TrekLens. Plus, it offers a much bigger venue of posting different photos. Oh well, such is the world of photographic politics. Be well, and thanks again for the comment.

Great collage, Ron. And great description for those of us who are totally ignorant of what's what, and who's who. Have a great vacation and look forward to some great photos from such.

Ron, with some intricate Photoshop imaging you could put this beautiful hummingbird anywhere you want. But that would be in contradiction to TrekNature photographs! Regardless of that, this is an absolutely great photo of this elusive and evasive little creature. I only wish I could have the opportunity to capture such a great photograph. Cheers,

Ron, I enjoyed viewing this very much! You caught the image at the most appropriate moment in time! I wish I could get my lazy butt out of bed early enough to catch images such as this. But, alas, being a bachelor, I don't have a beautiful lady, such as you do, to encourage me to shake off the covers that early! Or is it the other way around? In any case... Great photograph and imagery!

Without a doubt you shot this beautiful little creature from the correct side. The backlighting certainly added to the dynamic of the image. Pickers can't be choosers. You made the best of what you had to work with. Great shoot.

Oh Wow, Anne, this is heaven, also heavenly! What a great view. Drop me off at the peak in the upper left corner with skis on my feet and that will be heaven twice over. Takes my breath away.
Ron, just for the heck of it check out my workshop comparison. I like the shot, but it needs some cropping.
