Hi Lisa,

Wonderful shot of this little Tassie Devil, the 1/50th might have been just a little slow resulting in the slight loss of detail due to some movement.

Having said that what a great capture, love the open mouth those teeth can really do some serious damage, I might have got a little lower down to change the POV, but thats not always possible, and be careful if you do.

I laid down on the grass once shooting an Eastern Water Dragon with a 400mm lens, not quite sure if it saw its refelection in the lens but it moved real fast towards, and I nearly ended up in the lake, all the best

Cheers Rick :)

Hi Jeanne,

A great catch, the detail in the head and neck is excellent, your choice of apperture was perfect, placing the head and body in perfect focous but tapering out the length of the tail, this almost give it a 3d effect, really nice.

I might have got down to eye level for a different perspective but be careful, the last time I did that in the Botanic gardens I was useing a 400mm so the dragon even though was some distance away it looked pretty close.

Just as I was about to get the shot it took a couple of steps towards me, I tell you I nearly endedd up in the lake they move pretty dam quick, then again so did I :)
