Hi Loot,

Thanks for the dedication. It is a pleasure to meet folk who also love nature and combine it with this great hobby of photography. As you also mentioned in your last posting it is not the "big five" that give pleasure but the lesser animals as well. You have excelently captured the grace and speed of these animals which are also nice to watch.

Hi Anna,

'n Kosbare foto met gooie detail en gesigs uitdrukking. Ek hou veral van die highlights in die oe wat die aapie so lewend laat lyk. Ons het darem 'n bietjie reen gekry maar nog nie naastenby genoeg nie so al die ma's in die wildtuin sal moet nog bietjie uithou. My vraag is wat gebeur indien die reen nie kom nie?

Groete

Hi Loot,

Very good and sharp image of this small beauty of nature. Your comments are also to the point and a cause for thought for anybody visiting the park. The fact that you have chosen a subject like this for your first of hopefully many postings of your trip is fitting. The behaviour of some of the "lesser" animals, birds and insects is sometimes more interesting and satisfying to watch than the big 5 especially the lions which usually just lie around in the shade. To see an actual kill in progress by lions would probably be fantastic but the chances of seeing that are fairly remote.

Hi Neighbor,

Good focus and feather detail. I like the light on the eyes making them a sharp focus point. The bird stands out well from the background.

Hi Paul,

Nice portrait of this young leopard. You were lucky to see this elusive animal, I live right next to Kruger and I have not been able to photograph one although I have seen them in the distance or in such shadow that they cannot be photographed.
Hope you enjoy the trip.

Hi Kevin,

Well seen photo and story of the sharp end of these rhino. One definitely does not argue about the right of way with these guys.
The image and your camera settings suggest that the weather was overcast. I prefer shooting with plenty sunlight to get an aperture of F8 and a speed of at least the inverse of 1.6 times the focal length of the lens. This gives more depth of field and reduces the possibility of camera shake as I do not have image stabalisation.

Hi Paul,

It is nice to take photos of special natural conditions and you have shown it well here. Good composition, perspective and soft lighting conditions has made this image even beter.

Hi Evelynn,

Good to see some of your photographic quality again. Pleasant scene made more so by the excellent lighting captured with good composition and those clouds are just great.

Hi Anna,

Uitsekende detail op die vere van die nek veral. Dit lyk amper of hy spesifiek vir jou gegaan het vir 'n "perm" so mooi is die vere gekam.

Hi Bayram,

Well detailed and composed shot with a background that does the bird honour.
