I am a friend of your brother Andy. :) I have been to this exact same spot and there even is a photo in my TN-portfolio of such a fur seal on this same rocky beach. Your photo is however way better! I was still shooting with a compact camera in auto mode then and I understand you have a 400D (why don't you add your camera and lens(es) to your equipment profile?). Anyway, I think this is a very good picture. It's very sharp, very well composed and the exposure is really just right. Unlike your brother I don't really dislike the fact you cropped the flipper. I think, now you cropped rather a lot of the flipper, this doesn't necessarily mean the composition suffers or anything. On the contrary. Well, it's all a matter of taste I think. ;) How did you like NZ? BTW: I haven't uploaded any pics to the TN or TE for ages but you can see some recent photos from my hand (or my wife's) on www.saner.nl
