These are a common sight throughout the summer here in Ohio, but I don't recall ever finding a shell casing on a plant like this. Love your composition and fine detail. The colors are vivid and the exposure is right on the money. Very attractive and eye pleasing image! Well done!!

The thing that has always amazed me about the mantis are the black pupils of their eyes, which seem to follow you as you hold them in your hand and move them about.
