You caught this "Veiled stinkhorn" at the perfect time. The foul-smelling slime is actually the Mushroom's Spores Ang. It lets out the odor to attract insects to land on it and cover their limbs in it's spores, when the insect leaves the spores are spread. Composition is nice though the focus is a bit off. Nice centering of the Mushroom.

Great capture of this unique species Steve! These are also one of my favorite species as they are out of the ordinary, most people would not even know they are Fungi. They are very small but you managed to get very nice detail on the hairy bodies and spores! The nest on the bottom left reminds me of a pot of gold, lol. Thanks for sharing, going into Favorites!
