Kalahari Robin - KRS
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This chap was running round the campsite and after following him for a while trying to get close enough for a shot he eventually stopped still long enough for this photo!!
Birding at the campsites in the Khama Rhino Sanctuary is very productive especially round campsites 1 & 2 at the Mokongwa Camp.
The song of this robin is a distinctive sound of the arid bushveld typical of much of Botswana. Now known as the Kalahari Scrub-Robin this robin is common in arid bushveld areas and is often seen singing from the top of a bush. It runs along the ground in search of insects and bobs its russet tail each time it stops...

Hi Philip, A very good photo. These little guys are like dragonflies, alway on the move, and they hardly give you time to focus. You did well with this one, and DOF, POV, Focus and lighting also good. Keep shootin!!

Bonjour Philip!
