[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hippo's have a lazy life in the rivers of Africa. They are also very good caring mothers, it seems. This little one kept a worrying eye on me, whilst mom wasn't mincing words to let me know not to come too close. Thosde teeth are not for eating, they are for fighting only. Hippo's eat grass, yet and more people are killed in Africa by hippo's than all the predators put together. The reason is mainly for coming between mother and child. I kept a fair distance between us, not nearly far enough as my Land Rover was parked more than 50 m away from I was photographing. I trusted that she would not leave baby behind in chasing me, realising that Hippo's can outrun any human athlete any day, notwithstandig their more than a 1 000 Kg bulk.

What a good capture Nico. Dear little baby looking at you and mama trying to scare you off. I had heard that they were the main killers of humans in Africa. And I can see how. Thanks.

This is a very good shot, Nico.
I like the POV, very nice low angel. Swimming with the hoppo's ?. Good detaila, nice colours and well composed.
