One of the many water lily pictures I took during a 2 days bivouac in the Okavango delta.

Water lily: Nymphaeaceae is the botanical name of a family of flowering plants. The family is also called the waterlily family. The white water lily is the national flower of Bangladesh. It is also the birth flower for July.

Water-lilies are rooted in soil in bodies of water, with leaves and flowers floating on the water surface. The leaves are round, with a radial notch in Nymphaea and Nuphar, but fully circular in Victoria.

Merci.

Hello Cecile.
Powerful image, showing a water lily in the very bright and hard tropical sunlight, with fine dtails, and very subtle, well controlled shades of white petals opening to the sun, and its stem in the deep shadow of the blossom. I also like the depth obtaoned by the deep pint of view, and the deep colours of leaves and dark waters. A marvellous place you have been.
Thank you! With best regards,
Peter

P.S.: Welcome to TN!
