I take this portrait of a big male in Chobe National Park (Botswana) in 2003.
The Chobe National Park, which is the second largest national park in Botswana and covers 10,566 square km, has one of the greatest concentrations of game found on the African continent. Its uniqueness in the abundance of wildlife and the true African nature of the region, offers a safari experience of a lifetime.

Good in your face capture wich I believe would be greatly improved if the focus was on the eyes rather than the nose

Nice shot - I've never seen a male lion in Chobe (I've seen them elsewhere) only ever lionesses!! So you've got one up on me (though thats not hard!!) :)
Just wondered what aperture you used - maybe a smaller one would have improved the DOF in order to bring the eyes into focus too...
all in all a good shot...
