[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This female lioness was the only one in the area at the time I was at Mashatu. The other prides had temporarily moved off the reserve but this female was on the lookout for a potential mate. Along the way, she spotted a group of impala nearby and was watching them with interest when I took this shot.

The light was not very great on this cloudy morning. I did not have a tripod so decided to increase the ISO value to 200 to try and prevent camera shake. I shot the picture on RAW so that I could play with the white balance after. I also increased the saturation so as to bring out the colours of the little yellow flowers (Devil thorn).
