The Kalahari Desert covers areas in southern Botswana, northern South Africa and eastern Namibia. It is a great place for bird watching and watching wild life.
I visited the Kgalagadi National Park in Bostwana last year and stayed in a camp site where I was greeted by lions (which roamed around outside the tent at night) and hundreds of scorpions. During my stay in Kgalagadi NP, there was a huge desert storm which flooded many places.
The above photo was taken just before a heavy rain storm as the sky had turned dark gray, a few minutes before my body got soaked wet yet it was a fun and exciting experience. |

Hi Denis,
What a great gradient sky. Your vertical composition work perfectly. I like the silhouttes gainst the orange sky. The photo could be a tad sharper.

Niek

Hello Dennis,
A belated welcome to TN. A lovely shot, very atmospheric with a beautiful sky and wonderful colours. Nicely composed to include the band of light in the clouds, a nice shot.
Regards,
Adrian
