One would think that the skin of the African Elephant is tough enough to keep the bugs at bay, but they do like their regular mud baths, believed to assist in preventing stings - now you know how tough the bugs in Africa are. Maybe they simply take a mud bath to cool down and of course the mud reamins. But the way he looked at me - from a distance of about 20 m - was like a mud wrestler looking clinch the championship. I declined!

Hi Nico, very powerful shot. I love the look of the mud-encrusted elephant and such a good POV too. I would have like his right ear to be included but apart from that I think it is excellent. Well done.

Good shot Nico. A very muddy elephant. Pity about his ear, but otherwise very well done.

Wow - Very good shot - the pose is fitting. I also agree having the right ear would have been great, but it's not overly distracting.

I wonder what the other guy looks like? The sharpness and exposure here is excellent. The only nit here is that the ear is chopped off.

Wow! this is really a cool shot, the mud baked pachyderm gives one the impression that it is a weathered down stoney statue. :)
