| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
The small village of Rhumsiki is set in a lunar landscape of extraordinary volcanic plugs and basalt outcrops surrounded by a series of imposing peaks.
André Gide, writer and explorer, found the area so attractive he considered it was "one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world".
The mountains are dotted with little thatched houses huddling against the rocks and looking almost if they had simply grown rather than been constructed.
I took this shot during harmattan period: a wind bringing sahara sand in suspension giving the idea of a foggy atmosphere. |

Hi Alberto,
Excellent lighting has given this photo this beautiful soft look. The fG is perfect, I would try to get a little more color in the sky part, since it looks a little pale.
TFS,
Niek
wow...I've never seen anything like this..awesome photo..I like the shadows on the mountains , the houses give them a perspective of size..very nice!
