Hi friends
Another capture bird of Egypt. This shot is a Pied Kingfisher (Ceryle rudis). As conspicuous, striking kingfisher, unmistatakable with its large size an black and white plumage. The male has a double breast-band, while the female has a single one; the crown feather are elongated to form a short crest. Often seen perching in the open, and will hover and dive into water from aheight to catch fis. Frequently ocurrs in small, loose groups. A resident of the Nile Delta.

Hola amigos.
En esta ocasión vuelvo con otra ave de egipto, se trata de un martín pescador pío (Ceryle rudis, un martín pescador bastante grande si lo comparamos con los nuestros, llega a tener un tamaño de 25 cm. Es inconfundible por su plumaje negro barreado de blanco y sobre todo por el antifaz negro que va desde la frente hasta el final de la cabeza, terminando en una cresta bien visible. Se le puede encontrar solo o formando pequeños grupos, aunque lo más normal es verlos por parejas. Es residente tanto del delta como del valle del Nilo aunque se le puede ver también en los países que bordean la costa este del Mediterráneo como Turquía, Siria....

What a splendid and delicate compositon!
The balance here between the darker bird and this big ble sky makes this photo such an dinteresting one.
The details and colors on the kingfisher are magnificent - very sharp and with great definition.
The warm lighting is also exceptional and you managed the exposure very well here.

Fine in-flight capture of the Pied Kingfisher in a typical hovering pose.
This is sharp and well composed and the darkness of the shot is acceptable as this was taken in early morning light.

Lo del antifaz será para evitar su identificación, cosa que no le ha servido de mucho porque lo has cogido al VUELO.

Jorge siempre con pájaros en la cabeza y mientras yo, en brazos de Tutankamon. ¿Dónde estaba este pájaro que yo no le ví? Si el que es pajarero... vé pájaros hasta debajo de las piedras !!!
