Circular batfish (Platax orbicularis) has a rounded compressed body in silver colour with vertical bands, more or less dark. It grows up to 60 cm in length. The fish occurs singly or in open schools along steep slopes or in open water of deep lagoons and bays, 2 to 34 m. Juveniles in shallow protected waters and mimic a floating dead leaf.

The batfish is one of the most difficult fish to take pictures of in my opinion. Its round and silverish body is so easy to overexposure. Taking batfish pictures makes me wish that I had a TTL strobe.
