[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The moray eel can be a terrible predator because of its dentition. It has many rows of teeth in its palate and one row on its lower jaw. All these teeth are pointing backwards in its mouth so the more you pull to get free, the more the teeth insert in your skin. Of course this comment applies to all creatures, not only men.

Its skin is soft as velvet, and feels smooth and tender as a Jell-o in a plastic bag. Here you can see it hiding within the coral reef.

When taking UW pictures, it is very important not to agitate water near the corals and the bottom. If you do, a lot a suspended particules will float between your lens and your subject and it will be show as snow in front of the headlight of your car during winter.

Hi Alain, a belated welcome to TN. The UW photos are always fascinating to me. It's a world I do not frequent. I am out of my depth when I have to critique these shots and know it has to be very hard floating and keeping the cam steady.

I wonder what caused the reflection of the other hand in the bottom left corner? Is that a little fish in the hand?

Were you or whoever is patting the eel scared at all doing this Alain? It is a big moray eel too. Excellent shot, very ionteresting to see and to read your notes - thank you.

Good composition and focus. I like this shot.
Try to defuse the flash a bit or change the angle, to reduce the scatter in the water.

Stunning capture, very funny because of the scar on the ring finger! Great job and TFS!

Hi Alain,
I find this an interesting shot..you are brave :) I understand that when they get hold of you, they tend to not let go ;)
Reminds my of my first sea dive in Laguna Beach, Ca., back in the 70's.
I was pulling along a rock reef, with my face close in, inspecting..When the nightmarish thing popped out its head, teeth barred, not 8 inches from my face! Scared the sh#t out of me!
