| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| Juvenile gelada monkeys (Theropithecus gelada) spend much of their time at play. This gelada is of a member of a band living on the central highland 'Guassa' plateau in the Amara region of North Showa, Ethiopia. The geladas here are a distinct subspecies gelada (obscurus). There are no trees at this altitude(~3,500m), so all climbing practice/play occurs either on rock faces or giant lobelias. |
