Theropithecus gelada
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Geladas (Theropithecus gelada) are highly social primates endemic to the Ethiopian Highlands. As part of their social development, juveniles spend many hours at play to learn these social skills which dominate their later life as adults. Children from various family units interact in these play groups but as maturity approaches these contacts cease.
Taken on the Guassa Plateau region of Menz in the Central Highlands of Ethiopia. |

Hello Jeff,
Pleasant photo of these Gelada's. I've seen the young ones playing in the highlands, but can not recognize the palmtrees. I saw a lot of trees with mosses in a wet and foggy surroundings.
Great photo in an excellent timing. Beautiful natural colours and good sharp details. Fantastic composition.
Have a great weekend,
Peter
