I'm not sure what this species is. The photograph was taken in March 2009 at Lake Awasa in Southern Ethiopia. Any ID would be much appreciated.

I think it might be a Greenshank due to the slightly upturned bill!

Hello Alex,
Yes you're right: it is a Greenshank captured with good sharpness and lighting from a fine lateral POV.
It is most probably feeding up on it's way to Europe.

Definitive sure, a Greenshank. Last summer I was also there and made a lot of bird photos in only one hour. See here on TN.
This one I didn't see.
Fantastic natural coloured photo and excellent sharp details from a beautiful low POV.
