Forest mother- of- pearl butterfly.
Salamis parhassus
This photographed near Accra in Ghana.
A forest bfly.
Genus Salamis ...The mother -of -pearls series. 8 species.
Very similar to Clouded mother- of -pearl, Salamis anacardii which is slightly smaller with less mother of pearl sheen. Diierence often difficult to determine with certainty.
Genus only found in Afrotropics. |
