Byblia anvatara.
The African Joker.
One of 2 sps of Byblia.
Cf the Joker...Byblia ilithyia.( found also in S. India and Sri Lanka).
A Nymphalid. A Savannah sps. Fly in a similar way to nepsis. Rarely visit flowers. Tend to visit damaged plats for the sap. Larvae feed on Euphorbiaceae.
Found in tropical Africa.
This specimen ( a bit past its best) photographed in Techiman area Ghana. |
