| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| "The Uaso Nyiro River's name is derived from Samburu, meaning 'River of brown water'. Further downstream, the river cuts into the ground and plunges deep into the rocky gorges of Shaba National Reserve. From there it would once have flowed into the Lorian swamp which used to be the dry season refuge of thousands of elephants and other wildlife. But sadly this spectacle no longer exists as the elephant herds have been decimated by poaching and the swamp has largely been destroyed by livestock and periodic droughts." |

Hi Geof.
What an interesting scene you have captured. The form of the sky is almost identical the form of the bend of the river. Delicate colours, pleasant lights and darks. Really artistic work. My compliments and TFS.
Alexei.
Hi Geof,
Excellent work on the composition and the exposure. I like the way the river takes me further into the photo, toward the mountians in the back. The silhoutted trees are nice and sharp, and help the bring out the subtle colors in the sky. Maybe a boost of these colors would be good.
TFS,
Niek
