after a good meal the male lion along with the rest of the pride chill out anywhere they please...they dont need to hide since no one will predate them..this relaxed chap decided to siesta right beside the track...in fact he could have been on the track..its all his territory..we are the invaders...somewhere there is the remains of a zebra stuck in the bush..they will eat in about 24 hours time having slept around 22..

He does look like he has a full tum Geof. It's a pity you can't see his face, but I don't think you could ask him to turn his face around! It is good seeing them in the wild - how long were you in Kenya? It must have been a wonderful trip.
Cheers and thanks for sharing...
Janice

you too got a great shot here i see....it's amazing to watch them go by their business as if we are not there... they are so used to humans.....iam sure they think of us in the van as some dumb animal who does nothing...:-)...
nice POV and i like the light and shadow play that you manage to capture.

Hi Geof, he does look pretty relaxed. Nice shot, I think a little more room in front of the lion would have been good. Well done.

Hello Geof,
I'm running late today, but well deserved :-)
Thank You!

Hi Geof
Nice little pussycat... or so some tourists think. Have you heard (some time ago) about the group visiting here in SA. They went to a lion park outside Johannesburg. The one guy and his fiancé jumped out of the van and went to pose next to the lions while their friend took some photos. Well he had a scope as the lions were very impressed with the walk in breakfast and had a meal.
Your photo is one people don't necessarily want to see, but think about it - this lion is doing what most lions are doing most of the day. Sleeping. It is their prime daily activity and you captured it well. TFS.
Regards
Loot
