Laying on the hot sand, baked by the sun....
waiting...
waiting...
it's quiet around and soon - movement
they are coming out - many of them....
I can see them moving from the corners of my eyes...
seems that all but the one I wait for....
can't change my selection now - or they will all go back to safety....
waiting more...
sweating....
tropical sun....
and then, a leg
another 2 legs
an eye!
and then the body!
eyes looking around - and peer through the lens
shutter and CLICK! |

Hi Shir,
Its an interesting and original capture my friend.....I have pondered regarding what I think for quite a while and there are 2 things that seem to bother me here...
- The majority of the image is rather empty.
- Its a profile of the crab rather than front on.
Its possible the conditions or timing were crutial when you took it, but from what I see you had focal length (112mm) to spare and maybe a closer image and a different angle would have made it perfect......but then again who asked for my opinion :-) Still it certainly caught my eye and the detail and DOF are spot on.
Regards, David

Fantastic shot and an equally terrific note! The colors are just lovely. The eyes of the crab look hilarious...as if it had some disorder :) Splendid work!

Hi Shir!
Much worth waiting on the sun: the result is a very artistic image with fine dof and sharpness, nice colors and a superb composition! Lighting is fantastic. TFS!

Hi Shir,
Very nice shot, shows the animal's home turf, gives a feel for how it behaves, nice environmental shot.
Thanks,
John
