African Marabou - Marabout d'Afrique (Leptoptilos crumeniferus)

Order - Ordre: Ciconiiformes
Family - Famille: Ciconiidés

Enormous, balding scabby head, ugly, having an imposing beak, are the four qualifiers which characterize the best the African marabout. All these details, being added to the slate gray top, the whitish lower part, the long legs, dirty, make this bird very recognizable. The adults can present a pendulous pink air sac when the neck is outstretched. On the ground, the marabouts adopt a very characteristic position: upright with the head returned in the shoulders or sat on the tarsi. In flight, contrary to the others ciconiiformes, they fly the folded up neck like herons.

Reinforcement of dark tone: 70%
Attenuation of light tone: 10%
Contrast: +30
Luminosity: +15
Intensification with profit of 150% and one radius of 4 pixels.

By hoping that in spite of the ugliness of this bird, you will like the photograph, I will be happy to know your criticisms.

Enorme, chauve, disgracieux, pourvu d'un bec imposant, sont les quatre qualificatifs qui caractérisent le mieux le marabout d'Afrique. Tous ces détails, s'ajoutant au dessus gris ardoise, au dessous blanchâtre, aux longues pattes, sale et à la collerette ébouriffée, rendent cet oiseau très reconnaissable. Les adultes peuvent présenter une poche gulaire nue et pendante lorsque le cou est étendu. Au sol, les marabouts adoptent une posture très caractéristique : debout avec la tête rentrée dans les épaules ou assis sur les tarses. En vol, contrairement aux autres ciconiiformes, ils volent le cou replié à la façon des hérons.

Bonjour Jean.
Laid est le terme effectivement,mais pas sans intéret.La tête manque un peu de contraste avec le fond flou,mais de l'autre côté,on dirait un camouflage.
Belle composition et belle vue de la tête.
Vous me donnez l'impression d'être très à l'aise avec PS,je crois qu'un cours s'impose pour moi.
