Note by my friend Xplorator:
A hardly confusing silhoutte, the Leptoptilos crumeniferus or the Marabou also known as Koikoi in Swahili, a member of storks family, the ugliest bird on the Planet blessed with the best feathers, whom once if not still they complimented the finest lady garments or military panaches of the richest of the riches or most dandy people. Their very name Lepto-Ptilos means fine feather, possesion for which they were heavily hunted, mainly in Victorian Era. |
