[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Much controversy surrounds the identification of this species and the migrant Steppe Eagle. Both species are very variable in colour, ranging from almost white to dark brown. At close range the gape length is diagnostic and is this species it extends only to below the eye. See wing shape in Steppe Eagle. Habitat : Thornveld and semi-desert areas. Common in the major game reserves but thinly distributed elsewhere in the east and north. Call : silent except for grunts and croaks in aerial display.

Fantastic!!! I know this feeling when you menage to catch flyying bird... ;o) Especialy someone like this... Congratulation Farid!

Very difficult shot to get ... did you try to fill flash in to see if you can some detail on the face and body? Very good job getting the shot. I have tried to get shots like this and can appreciate just how much of patience (and luck) is required :)

Bonjour Farid,
Long time no see. : )
Wonderful pose of the eagle, whichever species it is. Love the tilted position of the wings above the bush. Very dynamic. TFS. ; )
