A second shot of the lion before he saw the giraffes. I was amazed at how well he blended with his background and glad I was in a solid 4x4. Until we got up close you just couldn't see him. This was shot from within the vehicle, handheld, and from about 25m. He was really quite unconcerned that we were there. We had been watching and slowly approaching a group of females and young who were on the other side of our vehicle when he raised his head and we realised we had come between him and the pride. I'll post some of the young and females at some time but it really was surreal to realise that we had stopped right in the middle of a pride of lions and they didn't seem at all bothered.

Over a period of several weeks we had seen solitoary animals and hunting females but this was the closest we had come, the raw power was evident and I wouldn't have wanted to be walking anywhere near.

Nice pic but too contrast making noise abit around the edge of objects. I have a suggestion by using Gaussian Blur to resolve it.
