Hi James,
i remember your previous post from this spot, and this works very well too. Perfect POV to fit all the trees into the frame from this vantage point...the prehistoric feeling to this shot is amazing. Another for my faves, cheers.

Hi James,
Pretty impressive grove of trees I must say.
Looks like you had some pretty harsh sunlight to work with here, but the effect is good.
Very interesting shot.

Hi James,
Must have been a 'wow' experience for you, especially you, to see these monsters heading to heaven:-)
Nice representation; good content...
To diminish a bit the contrast, you have a tool in PS CS2 called shadow/highlight...if you play around with the sliders, you will get more detail in the shadows and in the highlights.
Go to image>adjustments>shadow/highlight!

Compositionally this works well James, although the light wasn't really working in your favour. It's very harsh and has resulted in burnt-out highlights on the sides of the trunks along with almost completely blocked-out shadow areas.
Ideally it would have been better to take it earlier or later in the day when the light was both warmer and less intense. If that wasn't possible, shooting with the sun behind you with more even light on the trees would have helped avoid the massive contrast in brightness levels, which are difficult for any digital sensor to record.
Cheers,
Ben

Hello James,
I thoroughly enjoy your posts, great interest. These trees I've not seen before..and with names like Bottle or Monk Bread tree? I can see the bottle shape there but how do the monkeys get their bread up there?? ;-}}
Great post, thank you.

This has a bit of the soft effect of a scanned image??? I love these trees. I bet it would be a great place for a sunrise or sunset shot. I like the three trees "stairstepping" into the distance.

Shooting into the light can flatten an image which this kind of did, but it also brought out the details of the twigs and leaves. Very nice effect. Well done.

Hi James,
Majestic Boabobs and they look so grand in their forms. You have managed the harsh light well and I like your POV to portray them. The lighted and shaded areas give it a fine effect. Wonderfully composed. Kudos.

Hi James.
I welcome your creative approach and selection of the POV. Light effect is so impressive. You are right. The image produce a strong esthetic impression. It is the principal key of photography, I think. My compliments and TFS.
