Phelsuma madagascariensis (Madagascar Day Gecko) (A Portrait)

A diurnal, one of the largest species of geckos which inhabits the whole east coast of Madagascar. It lives on the eastern coast of Madagascar and typically inhabits rainforests and dwells on trees. It feeds on insects and nectar; like to lick soft, sweet fruit, pollen and nectar. It can reach a total length of about 22 cm. The body color is light green or bluish green. The skin between the scales often has a light color. A rust-coloured stripe extends from the nostril to behind the eye. On the back there are brownish or red-brick coloured dots which may form a thin line along the mid back. These geckos do not have eyelids, and they have flattened toe pads.
The another (-whole-) capture of the species was given in TN by me.

Hi Bayram,
I once planne dto go to madagascar as a tour guide, but givien the situation at that time there was a negative advice for traveling there. Therefore I went to Tanzania, where I saw also remarkable gecko's. Never was I able to capture them so nice as you did. Superb colours, but maybe a bit of a tight crop on the left side of the picture :-)

Best wishes, my friend
Jacob

Hallo Bayram
It seems as if this Gecko is doing his daily pushups. A lovely close up of this very attention-grabbing reptile. The skin’s texture is remarkable. I am amazed at the size and shape of the geckos paws, and what a big eye! A fine close-up this bright green gecko. The geckos we have here in our homes are not as pretty as this one. They tend to be dull and not much of an attraction to the eye. A lovely presentation with sharp details. Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards
Anna

Hello Bayram,

Beautiful portrait of this gecko. Good POV and sharpness. Very nice colours.
Well done,
Cheers,
Mariki

Hi Bayram

Superb macro, with amazing details on this beautiful gecko. I am going to the Andaman islands next week and hope to see some Phelsuma there!

Hocam elinize sağlık. Boyun kesesi olduğunu bilmiyordum bu gündüzcü gekkolarda. Sayenizde öğrendik. Teşekkürler. Nazo

Good portrait with lots of detail Bayram, a little fill-in lighting (e.g. a fill-in flash) might improve the eye detail, I think...

Excellent capture. However the compression artifacts take their toll and impact the image more than it is good for it. Solution:
Either lower the compression value or make the image a little smaller.
Aside from that it really is a wonderful detailed picture with great color. Bravo!
Cheers, Klaus

Hi Bayram,

A superb close-up of this cute looking Gecko. Fantastic details of the face and skin. The details are razor-sharp. I love the way they do their push-ups as he seems to be doing here. Great shot!

Vey vidid and well saurated colours! And moreover, the picture can be characterized by very nice sharpness and details.
And as I see you know a lot not only about herpetofauna of the Middle East but only African region :) And that is really good for you!!!

Hello Bayram,
Very interesting to see such a fine close-up of this beautiful green Gecko. Amazing sharp details and beautiful colours. Well done! In my opinion just a little to tightly cropped in front of its nose.
Many thanks and regards, Ulla
