Hello Albert,
A very fine capture of a dragonfly, especially as it is your first!
I can't give you the exact ID but it is a species of Crocothemis, amale showing typical upright posture to prevent overheating in the sun. Excellent sharpness and composition against a neautral BG.

Very good first try Albert, you've captured the wing venation perfectly in this sharp take from a good POV against a pleasantly OOF BG. I did a white balance adjustment on your image in my WS , hope you like it too...

I'm also not sure about the ID, it's difficult to name dragonflies out of Europe, so man different species.

This is an impressive hand stand,by a beautiful dragonfly.
Excellent sharpness and focus.
Very good lighting ,the colours are vibrant and well saturated.
Lovely POV and DOF,the dragonfly is sharp against a very nice OOF BG.

Thanks a lot for thinking about Ivan and me while posting the picture of this handsome male, Albert. I need to do a bit of research to get to the true ID of this guy. I think I shot it once in Riyadh.

Qu'elle belle petite ballerine toute délicate et colorée! Les photos de Libellules ne sont pas faciles à faire, je n'en ai jamais réussis une bonne! La composition, les détails et couleurs sont dignes de mention et que dire du bel effet crée par cette profondeur de champs. C'est exquis! Bravo!
