[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
We met this huge elephant on the way to the camp in Etosha hurrying to be on time there before the sunset (visitors are not allowed in the park after the sun is down). This male was a little bit too close.. He was eating but from time to time he would stop and look at us and make a couple of steps forward and mantle his ears..
The only reason why we kept watching it was that each time after performing all those behaviors he would take another branch. He got used to us in about 5-7 minutes, and then we could relax (well, never be too relax with such a big thing!) and watch it to our great pleasure.

The bush there was too thick for a good photo, and I apologize for all those branches; but this elephant was so gorgeous that I thought it would be still worth to post his photo.

Hi Olga
Bonne composition, pas facile d'avoir un résultat avec de grosse bête comme des Elephants.
Félicitations et merci pour l'envoie ...JP

Olga hi,
It is a pity the right eye isn't visible through these branches. Otherwise branches are just part of wilderness.
Was it a self drive safari in Etosha? And how was it?
Well done

I think the branches add to the naturalism of the shot. The colors and light feel very real. Those outstretched ears don't look particularly friendly but it makes for a great shot.

Hello Olga,
Great shot & gutts to capture such mammoth from this distance. I do not agree with Annick who feels Right eye is not visible, it is Left eye which is covered with branches giving it more natural touch. Cheers !
